He has experience in teaching poetry and installation techniques to children.<\/p>\n<p>The artist\u2019s sensitivity toward childhood was evident both in his involvement in joint initiatives and in his choice of installation solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Gevorg Ayvazyan visited Armenia for the first time last year. The opportunity arose for him to join European artists on an educational mission, aiming to share his creative vision with his compatriots. His first encounter was at the \u201cMkhitar Sebastatsi\u201d Educational Complex, where he was deeply impressed by the students\u2019 perceptions and abilities. In many ways, he discovered a new layer of Armenia through its children. The artist decided to return to Armenia to lead poetry, installation, and painting workshops at the complex. Gevorg Ayvazyan emphasizes that his work is driven both by educational goals and by the importance he places on building social connections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201c\u2026You Must Live\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\" style=\"--columns-gap:3rem;\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Gevorg Ayvazyan\u2019s piece If I Must Die, You Must Live is based on the final poem of Palestinian poet Refaat Alareer. Alareer was killed along with his family in Gaza during an Israeli airstrike. In his literary will, he urged that after his death, everything he owned be sold to buy something light that glitters in the sun- a kite that would capture children\u2019s gaze, soar high, and keep them far from all that is happening below.<\/p>\n<p>A message written in another corner of the world continues through the artist\u2019s creative work.<\/p>\n<p>In the artist\u2019s mind, protecting the lives of children remains an unwavering value\u2014regardless of geography, circumstances, or situations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>An artist who has come to value the importance of family in Armenia was inspired to present, at the educational complex\u2019s exhibition, a work dedicated to children in difficult circumstances- a piece that encourages cherishing the bright moments of childhood.<\/p>\n<p>Gevorg Ayvazyan\u2019s concept was accompanied by the music of Martin Allund- President of the Swedish Artists\u2019 Association, art advisor, and musician, who also took part in the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Unseen, Seen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2019, while conducting research in Morocco, Gevorg Ayvazyan explored an object in space related to the concepts of the seen and the unseen. In the context of the Borders exhibition\u2019s theme, his interpretation rests on the belief that these concepts originate from the formation of the universe and from astrophysical studies. However, the outcomes of his research led him to new questions, such as the memory of landscapes, the blending of elements, and humanity\u2019s passage through these spaces, whether in search of new territories or simply for survival.<\/p>\n<p>According to the artist, the aim was, on one hand, to study a wild, open area and its characteristics- the desert field adjacent to a settlement, a vast space whose agricultural cultivation had been abandoned in favor of potential construction or other uses, and, on the other hand, to focus on an object: the \u201cSurvival Blanket\u201d or \u201cSpace Blanket.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"w-video align_none has_iframe\"><div class=\"w-video-h\"><iframe title=\"Youtube video player\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/riZ_NGvB3AA?autoplay=0&controls=1&origin=https:\/\/mediaforedu.am\/en\/&loop=0&mute=0\" allowfullscreen=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>For the installation, six \u201cSpace Blankets\u201d were used, each covered with two different metallic sides- gold and silver,serving different functions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"w-separator us_custom_f0a88855 has_text_color size_small with_line width_default thick_2 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>\u201cWe forget about the object\u2019s practical use in favor of one of its inherent qualities. It\u2019s a decisive step toward the living, enhancing the organic movement made visible through the wind.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator us_custom_f0a88855 has_text_color size_small with_line width_default thick_2 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>It was this other characteristic of the material, known as polyethylene terephthalate, that caught the artist\u2019s attention. The present wind is also made tangible through this installation.<\/p>\n<p>Artist\u2019s note: \u201cAmnesia is a trace you can see.\u201d Ayvazyan points to an abandoned desert- land with no practical use, a space we occupy and move through. \u201cThe survival blanket works the same way: we watch the subject contracting and expanding, like in the Big Bang and in the Big Crunch- motions our universe has, in a sense, forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>The artist\u2019s journey of thought on the seen and the unseen began in Paris, as he witnessed the experiences of migrant children before his eyes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/mediaforedu.am\/en\/about\/our-team\/anush-martirosyan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Anush Martirosyan<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_f73f4019\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>P.S.
