Chess Union and an International Grandmaster, spoke about making chess more accessible to a wider audience in the context of new technologies.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Grandmaster, modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, are changing the accessibility of chess. While the complexity of chess was a barrier for many people in the past, that barrier is now becoming smaller.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally know many people who started learning chess and said, \u2018No, no, it\u2019s too complicated.\u2019 It is much easier to see the ball, kick it and play football. Of course, becoming a professional football player is one thing, just as becoming a professional chess player is another, and we know how much effort it requires,\u201d he said. Azmaiparashvili, however, stressed that the situation is changing as chess becomes more accessible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, I believe that hundreds of millions of people play chess, follow chess, are chess enthusiasts or are interested in it in different ways. And I truly believe that in a few years we will reach one billion. This is no longer a dream. In my opinion, this is reality,\u201d said the President of the European Chess Union.<\/p>\n<p>He said that such a large audience also creates new opportunities for the development of chess. Azmaiparashvili sees the development of chess in schools in the context of reaching this large audience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Different Roles for Teachers and Coaches<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Azmaiparashvili also highlighted the importance of distinguishing between the roles of a chess teacher and a chess coach in schools. He noted that there is often a misconception that a chess teacher must first and foremost be a very strong chess player. However, pedagogical skills are also important for a teacher working with chess in schools.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_small\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"w-separator us_custom_7e20fa79 us_animate_this size_small with_line style_solid color_custom width_default align_center\" style=\"--line-thickness:2px;--line-color:#7342f3;\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_0aef276b us_animate_this\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>\u201cA chess teacher should be good at chess and have pedagogical skills.
